Whew! It’s 10:31pm and I’m finally sitting down for the first time today. I came home from the beach early on Monday morning so that I could have the day to get things ready for the week. Since my whole family was together, we decided to have a crab feast despite the dark clouds that were in the sky.
The crabs were tasty, but they definitely didn’t compare to the ones that I ate at Jamie’s—probably because her uncle steamed them live. I can’t believe I almost missed out on those!
I indulged a little too much at the beach, so I hopped on the treadmill after dinner. Unfortunately, I was only able to do two miles before major shin splints started kicking in. I probably should have iced my shins last night, but I had more important things to do. Like try on a million and one different outfits to pack for NYC.
My day has been go, go, go! but I accomplished a lot, including making a trip to the nail salon and Target. After getting a shellac manicure a few weeks ago, I had neglected my nails and failed to get the gel soaked off. I was pleased with the results, so I went ahead and got another shellac manicure in a neutral color. Luckily, I didn’t fall asleep this time!
I tried so hard to not let my Target stop turn into a “I need this, this, and this” kind of shopping trip. It’s so easy to spend a hundred dollars there just by picking up a few extra items. With the exception of a grocery item, I successfully bought only travel-sized toiletries to take with me on my trip tomorrow. I love that you can practically get anything in a mini size nowadays!
I made two loaves of chocolate chip coconut banana bread when I came home tonight (one to give as a hostess gift) then set out everything that I need to pack in the morning. And now I’m too tired to think.
I better get to sleep so that I can wake up early in the morning to fit in a workout!
