Fitting the stereotype of a typical college student, Natalie’s cabinets were sparse–her refrigerator was limited to wine, butter, and lunch meat. While Natalie made a ham sandwich at 4:45am, I walked out the door with two birthday cake Oreos and one tablet of Dramamine.
I recklessly applied my makeup in the car (eyeliner was flying across the dashboard) as we drove to the bus stop at the crack of dawn on Friday morning. Three hours and a knot in my back later, we arrived in New York City. We picked up our favorite whole-wheat bagels, dragged our luggage down to the subway, and slid on the sleet-covered sidewalks from Columbus Circle to Lincoln Center with inverted umbrellas.

We threw our bags down in the volunteer trailer then rushed to the venues to help with the taping of Project Runway, but not before everyone on radio knew that I was wearing leopard-print pants. (Talk about embarrassing, though triumphant–the volunteer coordinator had to ask my boss if they were allowed, and they were.)

I was peeking at the beautiful DVF collection backstage when I quite literally brushed shoulders with the designer herself. It was a humbling moment!
The weekend consisted of runways, decadent food, and enough laughter to give me an ab workout. Have you ever wheeled a suitcase through the streets of New York? Have you ever wheeled your suitcase through the streets of New York IN A FOOT OF SNOW?
Did you get hit by Nemo this past weekend? What is the weather like where you live?

I canNOT believe how cute Diane von Furstenberg looks! Her outfit is to die for. Which show was your favorite?
Diane (I’m pretending we’re on a first-name basis here) always looks effortlessly flawless! It’s so hard to choose a favorite! I loved Monique Lhuillier–the gowns were incredible–but I also thought more wearable collections, like Charlotte Ronson, were just as gorgeous.
Is that Nigel Barker?? I love your fashion week posts!!! The whole Fashion Week experience looks surreal. No Nemo on the West Coast, I wish we could have taken some snow off the East Coast’s hands!!
Yes! Nigel Barker is always at a ton of the shows and is so nice! There’s no better way to describe Fashion Week–it’s two parts fashion, one part insanity. You can have the snow and I’ll have the warm weather. :)
So awesome! I almost volunteered this year but had to put my husbands birthday first whomp whomp
There’s always next season!
